Personal finance is a very broad and often confusing set of subjects.

Starting & running a small business presents similarly confusing issues.

I want to help you with those tasks!

My name is Eric J. Nisall, and that is my goal.

First, allow me to take a moment to thank you for your time!

I know there is almost nothing more precious in life, and it’s one of the few resources you can never get back once you spend it.

I hope to be able to make the time you invest here worth every single second.

This section of the site is kind of the roadmap to the whole place.

It’ll give you a little insight, explain how and why things are done here, tell you how to get in touch on social media, and highlight some of the more important articles (although, most of them are pretty important if I do say so myself lol).

So let’s get started!

A Bit About Me (But Not Too Much)

Eric Nisall at FinCon18 in Orlando
Just me at FinCon18 in Orlando having fun with a flamingo friend?

I’ve spent my entire professional career working in financial services.

Small businesses have been half of my focus–coaching, preparing tax returns, business formation, marketing and branding, cash flow & much more.

Individual financial expertise just developed from there–taxes, credit, debt management, etc. are all areas I specialize in.

My advice and expertise have been quoted in articles on such sites as Forbes, Money, Time, Huffington Post, NY Times, and others.

Outside of the serious stuff, I love hockey (Let’s Go Rangers!!!), a rare steak, sushi, NYC style pizza (real pizza hahahaha), Jack Daniels, and my family.

I wanted to give you a little insight into my background so you can see that I’m not some troll who “stayed at a Holiday Inn last night”. If you want to know more you can read all about my story where I go into my background more thoroughly.

But that’s enough about me…this is all about you.

Why Do I Do This?

To be honest, I really don’t remember when I started my first blog.

I don’t recall what or who it was that motivated me to start blogging.

What I do know is that there is a lot of junk advice on the internet.

You deserve better.

You deserve advice that is complete and accurate and comes from a trusted source with firsthand knowledge, not someone paid to copy a few sentences from several sources and piece them together.

You deserve information from someone who has actually done the things they write about, with hands-on experience not just because they “read something about something this one time”.

You deserve a place to go where you can understand what is being said and plain English is being spoken.

Truthfully, when I was first starting out in business, I couldn’t find a place that was designed with me in mind as a beginner and I hope to change that for other people out there.

And I also discovered that there are way too many sites out there that ignore the “personal” aspect of personal finance and speak at people rather than give ideas and nurture relationships.

Whether it’s your first foray into entrepreneurship, or you just want new ideas for running your small business.

Whether it’s your first time looking at homeownership, or you want ideas for handling your tax situation more effectively.

I want to be able to help you accomplish those goals!

Engagement & Communication

Your views and experiences are important.

Without you, there can never be a community, so comment away.

If you have experience with an issue covered in an article, tell everyone about it.

If you have a question regarding the topic a particular article deals with, inquire about it.

If you have a dissenting view on anything, argue your point.

The first thing you should do since you’re here if you haven’t already is sign up for the mailing list:

.

I use it to not only keep people up-to-date with what’s going on with this site, but I also provide subscriber-only information such as previously unpublished articles about starting and running your business, giveaways, and more.

Then you should (again, if you haven’t already) connect on social media (just scroll down for ALL of the links!

Recommended Tools & Resources (Ads & Links)

In an effort to keep the focus on the information, I have tried to limit the display of advertisements as much as possible.

I’m not a big fan of overly-monetized websites myself, so why would I want to force ads down your throat and interfere with the user experience?

What I did was to set it up so that they are placed in the most non-intrusive positions I could.

I did, however, create a page specifically for tools & resources I recommend which also helps to keep the in-content distractions to a minimum.
